Pat Hempen

Pat Hempen just retired (June 29, 2024) as the Director of AVP-100, the FAA's national Accident Investigation “Go-Team” whose mission is to make air travel safer through investigation, analysis, and information sharing.    The Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention is the principal organization within the FAA with respect to aircraft accident investigation regarding the Continued Operational Safety Mission .  Pat Hempen is an expert in commercial and military aviation, security, counter-terrorism, and accident investigation with a TS/SCI Clearance and Class II Flight Physical.
